ARE YOU SAYING THAT EVEN INTENSIVE, EXHAUSTIVE BIBLE STUDY WOULDN’T HELP – WOULD LEAVE ONE SHORT OF UNDERSTANDING?

WHAT CAUSES ONE TO BECOME A DISCERNING PERSON?

Remember, I control everything.  We gave my spirit the job of illumination, shining his light of truth on what is written or repeated verbally to make its true meaning known.  I am not saying that study is completely irrelevant.  My spirit needs substance to work with of course.  But, apart from his illumination, no one – no matter how studied – knows what it’s all about.49  We gave him the job of getting it all written down.  He influenced – inspired, if you will – rather ordinary, though carefully chosen, individuals to do our bidding.  Doesn’t it follow that my spirit would interpret what we caused to be written in the very same manner?50

ARE YOU SAYING THE PARABLES WERE USED AS MUCH TO CONCEAL AS TO TEACH?

You got it.  Timing in the release of information is crucial in order to be able to control events.51  My son was one of the first to thank me for keeping things from the so-called “wise” and revealing them to foundlings – although our servant, David, alluded to as much in his musings.52  My son congratulated one in his inner circle for knowing my anointed one’s  true identity, then gave me credit for slipping the fellow the information.53  No, there’s nothing like keeping a lid on things until it’s prudent to crack it a bit.

49 “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

50 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16a).  “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved on by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:20-21).

51 “. . . To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand’” (Luke 8:10).  “. . . You (God the Father) have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes” (Matthew 11:25b).  “Then Jesus said to them, ‘My time has not yet come, but your (His brothers’) time is always ready’” (John 7:6).  “Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face” (Luke 9:51-52a).

52 “ . . . The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple (innocent babes with pure hearts)” (Psalm 19:7b). “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see (comprehend) God” (Matthew 5:8).

53 “He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’  Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’  Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven’” (Matthew 16:15-17).
